Croft

After a tough few weeks from Oulton Park getting the bike ready for Croft, James’s goal is to get the championship back on track with a good points hall.

Free Practice
James got off to a good start, The bike felt good and handled fine and he finished the wet session in 8th position on a time of 1:38:126.

QP1
James gets to put the R6 through its paces in a dry first qualifying. He hits P1 straight away and stays fastest on a 1:26:376.

QP2
Another dry session but very windy and cold this time, never the less Easty battled through the gusty conditions, going faster again and taking pole position by 0.386 on a 1:26:063.

Warm Up
Race day, and grim cold and damp conditions were on the ground. James done a couple of laps and a practice start in this session only, so not to risk an unfortunate spill.

Race
The ground was damp, but an oil clear up on the start line gave enough time for the track to dry up before the stock 600 race.
As James’s team members were changing to the dry tyres
on the grid, a pinch bolt rounded out when being un done forcing James to continue to the start with a wet weather front tyre and a dry rear.

James got the best start of his career, getting the hole shot for the first time in the first corner and leading the race on lap 1 but was not able to run high enough corner speed because of the wet weather front tyre, people started closing down and coming past but Easty held on running a consistent pace so not to crash to finish the race in a respectable 5th position.

James – “ The Croft race was one of the most difficult races I’ve ridden. The front was constantly folding and I spent a lot of time preventing crashes. I’m relieved with the result and I believe I’ve salvaged some good points considering the circumstances, I’m now going to put Croft behind me and work towards Thruxton, I really like the circuit and I know I can run a fast pace so I’m really looking forward to it “.
