The start of the 2011 National 600 Superstock Championship commences at the indy circuit at Brands Hatch.

FP1
James gets off to a good start and finishes the red hot first session in 5th place on a 49.032.

QP1
With temperatures still really high for the time of year, the grip levels were up and the lap times were dropping fast. James ends his session in 2nd place on a 48.454 just 3000’ths off of provisional pole from Glenn Irwin who did a time of 48.451.

QP2
Again with the heat increasing James dropped his time to a 48.439 to give him a front row start in 4th place, leaving him on the inside for turn 1.

Warm Up
Warm up was successful, a few suspension settings are found in the session, which improve the race set up. James finishes the session in 6th place on a time of 48.960.

Race
Easty got a bad start and was 8th on lap one but was on the move straight away.
Lap 2 James moves past Connor Behan to 7th and at the start of lap 3 makes a decisive move overtaking 3 people into paddock hill bend and later one more at clearways to move into 3rd position.

Lap 4 James moves past Ben Burke into Clearways, up to 2nd and then sets after race leader Deane Brown. On lap 10 James makes the move on Brown to take the lead and does so through to lap 22 when Ben Burke and Deane Brown come back at James who was struggling on a roasted tyre from the early laps and make the move.
Easty held on an battled his way through the last lap to snatch 2nd place from Deane Brown and miss out on the win by just 25,000’ths of a second.





James – “ Once I got the lead I settled down and thought I’d done enough to preserve the tyre, but it wasn’t enough and I was struggling off the throttle in sector 1, Deane and Ben came back but I still got to 2nd at the line and I’m really pleased with the result. It’s my first podium and it feels as brilliant as I ever thought it would!, Thankyou to everyone involved. “
