The last round of the season and the British Championships roll up to the exciting Oulton Park circuit for the 2nd and final time in 2010.
Practice
With heavy rain in the early hours of Friday morning the track was still wet come 9:30 when the Stock 600s were due to be on track, but it was drying out rapidly in places.
It ended up a wasted session due to the inconsistency in track condition; James circulated on wet weather tyres but came in when it was un safe to do so.
Qualifying 1
Track conditions are dry and James sets a time of 1:43:613 to put him 11th, some suspension settings were changed after this session to help out for the next day.
Qualifying 2
With the huge entry list of 56 riders, Easty struggles to find a clear lap but improves in time but not places. Despite setting a time of 1:42:754 this is only good enough for 14th place and he will have to start from row 4.
Race
Despite a massive gaggle of riders at turn 1 James carves through on the inside into Cascades and Island bend to move up to 12th. Easty gets a good run out of lodge corner to run alongside the 11th position man on the start/ finish straight at the beginning of lap 1 when he darts up the inside into turn one only to have the door closed on him in the braking zone, James gets tangled up on the brakes with the rider and goes down at high speed into the catch fence, but walks away with only bruises.
Easty ends up 13th in the championship out of 37.
James I am absolutely gutted with what happened in the race as it was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had the pace and was on a charge, but my biggest hope is that people can recognise the pace I have gained and support me in 2011 where its looking increasingly likely that I will return to the superstock 600 championship and go all out for the title.
