After a long winter, training and testing, at last East Racing rolls up to the first round of the National 600 Superstock Championship.
For 2010 James is of a bigger build, this is his own preference to be able to keep control of the Yamaha and James has also had a long time after his leg breaking crash at Knockhill in July 2009 to think over his motives and ambitions for 2010, building a strong mindset for the season.
With a huge entry list for the 600 stock championship of 67 riders, the round was split into 2 groups, 'A' and 'B'. James being in group B.

(DRY) P3 49.444 James finishes up the session 3rd with a respectable time for the first session out.
QP1
(WET) P6 52.389 James leads the session throughout until the last 3 laps, where he is held up by a group of slower riders, sending him down the order.

Warm Up
P8 49.242 Suspension changes are made to aid rear end grip, which proves successful in this session on used tyres.
Race
James got a good start initially slotting into 4th place, the same as his qualifying poition, but was given 3rd place on lap 3 with a rider retiring due to mechanical problems. james holds 3rd position until lap 9 when he is pushed down to 4th just half a second off the leaders and holds this position battling between 4th and 5th with rider 19 Freddie Russo.
At the flag James receives 5th position, 4.558 seconds back of the leaders and just 0.052 of a second between himself and Freddie Russo.
An amended result was called post race disqualifying one rider giving James 4th place.
James " I'm delighted with how the race went, it's a great start to the year with a good haul of points to get us going, I couldn't run the pace of the leading 3 on a used tyre but we will build on this and improve for the next round, Thank's to my father John for supporting me all the way, and Stefan Pollard for preparing the bike brilliantly.
