Thruxton is a track suited to James, fast and flowing which he enjoys and despite only visiting the track once in the past on the 125, James is confident prior to the meeting that he can run a fast pace.
Free Practice
A less crouded track than other meetings makes learning the 100MPH+ curves of Thruxton Circuit easiar on the 600 and James posts a quick first time of 1:22:520 to put him in 9th position.
Qualifying 1
James goes just over 1.1 seconds faster but slips down the order after suffering rear grip issues to 15th place on a 1:21:376.
Qualifying 2
The Bike's ride height is changed to bring the bike more level also suspension settings are changed to help the bike sit down in the corners which helps dramatically James Jumps to 4th position and the front row of the grid on a 1:20:194 nearly 1.2 seconds faster than Qualifying 1 and nearly half a second faster than the Lap Record!.
Warm Up
James practices some starts only to have the clutch wear out half way through the session, so he returns to the pits to temporarily adjust the lever.
The bike is brought in after the session for a new clutch fresh for the start of the race.
Race
James gets a flying start to complete lap 1 in 3rd place, the pace car is immediatly brought out after a huge incident further down in the pack and is kept out for 2 laps.
On the safety car's in lap on the back straight the leading two riders sneak away from the 3rd place rider who holds James up through the chicane letting him fall closer to the riders behind.
At the start of lap 4 the 5th place rider makes a lunge up the inside into the complex underneath James to run deep into the corner, James cuts back around the outside of the rider to re take him but at that same point the other rider low sides and his bike hits James highsiding off his machine and out of the race.
Bad Luck for James but race winning pace is shown for the first time and only at the 4th round of the new championship to James and East Racing.
